Multi Unit Dwellings
Looking at the last hundred years the most striking architectural development might be the abundance of skyscrapers (high-rise buildings) built and the overwhelming and increasing density of urban areas all around the globe.
The anonymity and brutality of these new structures even those constructed by the most gifted planners and architects is unfortunately socially acceptable and even taken for granted.
Stephan’s multi-unit dwelling addresses this by giving our feelings a visual interpretation and proposing sadness and hope, dullness, and vibrancy with tableau like paintings that offer flatness and perspective and a richness in texture that is hard to absorb at a first glance. The viewer is left searching for the subtleties each works openly hides.
